North Anston & South Anston are two villages in the southeast of the Rother Valley constituency, with a combined population of roughly 9,000 people. The area’s history dates back over a thousand years, and its name means “single/solitary stone” in Old English. In 1839, limestone mined from the Anston Quarry was used to construct the Palace of Westminster in London.
