My Plan for Dinnington

Alexander Stafford MP in Dinnington

Dinnington is a small town located roughly in the centre of the Rother Valley constituency and has a population of just over 9,000 people. It is believed to have been founded in Neolithic times with a name meaning "Town of Dunn's People". Dinnington has a local theatre known as The Lyric, which originally opened in 1910 as a roller skating ring.

Following the £12 million secured by Alexander Stafford MP and your Dinnington Conservatives for the regeneration of the high street, planning is now underway.

Following the tragic deaths of pedestrians on Laughton Common Road and Swinston Hill, we’ve already secured a positive response for the council to investigate the new measures needed in these locations.

With 739 more officers recruited in South Yorkshire, we’re seeing more bobbies on the beat. But the work doesn’t stop there. We’re pushing for our fair share of these officers right here in Dinnington.

Since December, I’ve been banging the drum for a solution to the backlog of GP appointments. You and your loved ones should not have to wait for an appointment when you need to see your GP. Now, Ministers are acting. Our new Primary Care Plan will make it easier for you to get a GP appointment and access other NHS services as we deliver on our promise to cut waiting lists.
