  • Alexander Stafford, local MP for Rother Valley, campaigning for £20 million to be invested in high streets in his Rother Valley constituency
  • As part of this effort, his petition calling on Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council (RMBC) to submit a strong bid for the Levelling Up Fund (LUF) has been signed by over 1800 residents and businesses in his constituency

Local MP Alexander Stafford has taken his campaign to ensure that RMBC submit a strong, high-street focussed bid for the LUF for Rother Valley to the House of Commons by presenting a petition signed by over 1800 businesses and residents who believe that the council must invest in towns infrastructure.

Commenting, Alexander Stafford MP said

The Government's Levelling Up Fund is a once in a generation opportunity and absolutely must be seized upon by Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council.

There is a £20 million grant available for Rother Valley and I want our communities to be first in the queue to receive this so we can rejuvenate our local high streets and shopping areas.

Rother Valley cannot afford to miss out and I will do everything that I possibly can to enable Rother Valley to access this investment. I hope this petition, and seeing the strength of feeling within the local community, convinces the Council to act now.
