Alexander Stafford MP with Prime Minister Boris Johnson

Alexander Stafford has reflected upon his first 6 months as Rother Valley’s MP saying he is proud of his achievements but there is still plenty of work to do.

Alexander has dealt with countless businesses, critical workers, vulnerable persons and those furloughed or made redundant ensuring that everyone has support available to them. Alexander has made the recovery from Coronavirus a priority, hoping a green recovery will bring growth and good quality jobs to Rother Valley.

Transport infrastructure is another priority for the new MP, with it becoming a key theme of concern among constituents. Alexander has voiced opposition to HS2, instead calling for more local investment, including the South Yorkshire Joint Railway and better bus provision.

Fracking is another key concern for Alexander, who has opposed the projects in Harthill and Woodsetts, as better local alternatives can and should be made available.

The rejuvenation of local high streets, such as Dinnington, are a focus point of Alexander’s plan for recovery as well as better flood prevention measures and investment in local projects that bring good quality jobs.

Commenting, Alexander Stafford MP said:

Though my first 6 months have been shrouded by Coronavirus, I have still had the opportunity to witness the potential Rother Valley has to offer, and I remain as determined as ever to see people and businesses realise their potential.

“I will continue to fight for local investment in transport and growth, so that we can see what Rother Valley can achieve and recover strongly from Coronavirus. My opening six months have been incredibly challenging but just as equally rewarding.”

“Please do continue to contact me at [email protected] as we work together to bring real change to Rother Valley.
