Rother Valley MP Alexander Stafford has responded to the recent announcement that South Yorkshire will benefit from its own Combined Authority.
Alexander believes that places like his constituency, Rother Valley, will benefit from South Yorkshire devolution as there would be more targeted investment within the community. The deal reflects the government commitment to devolution across England and would enable an increase in investment into South Yorkshire.
Commenting, Alexander Stafford MP said:
South Yorkshire devolution could be a game changer for our communities that have been left behind and this government commitment goes some way to helping Rother Valley level up. We must ensure that the region spends the money wisely and invests in areas with the greatest need to create growth, jobs and better transport links.
