ALEXANDER STAFFORD MP FOR ROTHER VALLEY

As we approach Remembrance-tide this November, I wanted to ensure you are informed of the new Remembrance educational resources that the Royal British Legion (RBL) have recently released.

This year, RBL marks 100 years by launching new Teaching Remembrance educational resources that explores who, how and why we remember - nurturing the relevance of Remembrance with our young generation today, and how they will help to shape its future.

Created in partnership with the National Literacy Trust the resources help children discover stories of those who served and sacrificed from Britain and the Commonwealth. Supporting the understanding of how communities across Britain are joined together in our shared heritage of Remembrance.

This year, the offer covers the whole of Key Stages 1 to 5 (ages 5 -18) enabling teachers, parents and families to bring Remembrance to life. The resources come in a variety of formats, activities and stimuli, including book clubs, whole school projects and poetry workshops; to enjoy in the classroom or at home. They are available in English and Welsh language, and are free to download from the Teaching Remembrance hub at: rbl.org.uk/teachingremembrance. The resources are also available via the Wales Hwb website.

The RBL has also partnered once again with the Cadets, Guides and Scouts to produce bespoke Remembrance-themed learning and activity resources, which can also be accessed via the Teaching Remembrance hub.

As Remembrance-tide nears and the whole nation and our communities come together to take part in our shared heritage of Remembrance, I wanted to ensure you are aware of these resources.
